Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data KUDO Eyewear collects, why, and what rights you have. It reflects the services this store actually uses — nothing is listed here that is not in use.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Walter Söderqvist, trading as KUDO Eyewear, a Swedish sole trader (enskild näringsidkare) registered in Falun, Dalarna, Sweden. Contact details, including the organisation number, are on our contact page.
What we collect, and why
When you place an order
Name, delivery address, billing address, email address, phone number if you give one, order contents and payment status. We process this to fulfil the purchase contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and to meet Swedish bookkeeping obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
When you pay
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, including Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are never stored by us — we see only the last digits, the card type and whether the payment succeeded.
When we ship
Your name, address, email and phone number are shared with the carrier so the parcel can be delivered and tracked.
When you create an account
Your email address and order history, so you can sign in and see your own orders. Based on your consent, which you can withdraw by asking us to delete the account.
When you use the contact form
Your name, email, order number if given, and the content of your message — so we can answer you. Legitimate interest, or performance of the contract where it concerns an order.
When you subscribe to our newsletter or First Access
Your email address, on the basis of your consent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and withdrawing consent is free and immediate.
When you exercise your right of withdrawal
The details you submit in the withdrawal form, plus the automatic acknowledgement we send you. Needed to comply with the Distance Contracts Act.
When you browse
Standard technical data — IP address, browser, device type, pages visited — through Shopify's built-in store analytics. See our cookie policy.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Shopify International Ltd — the ecommerce platform this store runs on: hosting, order management, checkout, store analytics, customer accounts and transactional email.
- Shopify Payments — payment processing.
- Shopify Inbox / Messaging — customer messages, where you contact us through the store.
- Carriers — the delivery company handling your parcel.
- Our accountant — access to transaction records for bookkeeping and tax purposes.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for other companies' advertising.
Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Shopify may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens it is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and Shopify's own data processing terms.
How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records: seven years, as required by the Swedish Bookkeeping Act.
- Customer account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact messages: normally up to 24 months, longer if tied to an open complaint.

Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased where we have no lasting legal basis for keeping it, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing rests on consent.
Email us and we will respond within one month. We do not charge for this.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY, at imy.se.
Children
KUDO does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we hold such data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date below. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
